PR - LOCAL BUILDER SUPPORTS RELIEF AND RECOVERY EFFORTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF HAITI

SACRAMENTO, CA. Feb 23, 2010 Tim Lewis Communities is continuing its dedicated support for the American Red Cross and the relief efforts in the Republic of Haiti following the devastating Jan. 12 earthquake with a donation of $10,000.00 presented to Dawn Lindblom , American Red Cross - Sacramento Sierra Chapter CEO to benefit the relief and recovery efforts in Haiti. In addition, Tim Lewis Communities has announced a commitment to donate an additional $500.00 per home sold March 1st and continuing thru May 31st 2010. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has also joined forces by committing to donate an additional $300.00 if a homebuyer uses the Tim Lewis Communities’ Preferred lender Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; raising the donation to $800.00 for each home sold thru May 31st 2010.
On January 12, 2010, a series of earthquakes ranging from magnitude 6.5 – 7.3 struck the island nation of Haiti, killing an estimated 200,000 people, and forcing 3 million Haitians to cope with the loss of loved ones, homes, schools and livelihoods. The earthquakes and their aftershocks, which repeatedly hit just outside the country’s capitol city Port-au-Prince, reduced most buildings to rubble and left an estimated 1.2 million people instantly homeless. It is a monumental catastrophe, inflicting massive damage and suffering in Haiti – already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
“As the American Red Cross continues to play a critical role in the relief and recovery efforts, our goal is to continue extending needed resources to those on the ground in Haiti and the coordination efforts back in the U.S. while simultaneously offering the opportunity for our homebuyers to participate in the relief efforts as well ,” said Linda Schwartz, Sales and Marketing Director for Tim Lewis Communities. “We hope these new offerings and our previous contribution prove beneficial to the victims of Haiti, the thousands of Haitian volunteers and the dedicated aid workers of the American Red Cross.”
